Longmont is set to welcome a new business to a prominent building in town with the opening of Johnson’s Station. Located at 1111 Neon Forest Circle, the upcoming eatery is transforming that famous Johnson’s Corner Gas property, Westword reports.
The team behind Johnson’s Station comprises seasoned industry professionals, including restaurateur and chef Josh Dinar, along with hospitality veterans Hank Grant, Justin Riley, Giovanni Leone, and Colton Cartwright.
Johnson’s Corner Gas has been a fixture in the community since its establishment in 1937. Once a bustling stop for travelers and locals, it was even recognized by literary giant Jack Kerouac in his classic novel On the Road.
The new Johnson’s Station aims to honor that legacy while offering a modern take on the classic diner experience. Patrons can look forward to classic offerings such as burgers, chicken sandwiches, and tacos, complemented by an impressive beverage selection, including 18 draft beers, handcrafted cocktails, and nitro cold brew.
There are extensive renovations taking place at the property that will finish in August. The design includes a multi-level space with a rooftop camper van bar, a large outdoor turf patio with fire pits, and a cocktail lounge on the second floor.
“We are really excited to offer a new community space for the people of Longmont. We hope they think of us as Longmont’s backyard!” co-owner Giovanni Leone shared with What Now Denver.
