The decision to open Dumplin’ comes after the closure of Salt & Grinder, the Bonannos’ sandwich shop that operated in the same location for several years. That business closed in September.
Inspiration for the venue comes from Frank Bonanno’s deep love for a myriad of cuisines. Dumplin’ will feature a unique blend of flavors, combining traditional Italian ingredients and methods with Asian-inspired preparations.
The restaurant’s menu includes an array of dumplings, a nod to Frank’s admiration for Asian cuisine, with options ranging from classic pork to scallion to wagyu beef. There will also be different types of ramen, meat-on-a-stick, tofu, and fried wontons. For dessert, guests can indulge in mochi and a double chocolate s’mores sundae.
Dumplin’ will be a cozy and intimate spot, with only around 26 seats available. The restaurant will operate on a walk-in basis and will have a full-service bar that serves sake, beer, Italian wines, and three signature cocktails.
