The site further explains, “[The] new expansion will add a giant ballroom with extensive pre-function space, plus an outdoor rooftop terrace with jaw-dropping views of the Rocky Mountains!”
What’s more, the rooftop expansion will connect the new ballroom and pre-function spaces to landscaped outdoor areas that include a birds-eye view of downtown Denver. The construction will also bring forth technology improvements, more inviting networking spaces, and will provide attendees with safe and easy access to CCC and Bellco Theatre events.
Denver.org predicts that the expansion will generate $195M in labor income and $475M in anticipated sales. The final estimated cost of the expansion is $219.7 million.
Centerplate, the Colorado Convention Center’s exclusive caterer, will undoubtedly benefit from the expansion as project renderings for the terrace and ballroom depict visitors eating, drinking, and socializing in the grand venue unencumbered by lack of space or encroached upon by kitchen equipment, employees, etc.
What Now Denver reached out to CCC’s Director of Operations Joe McCullough for details as to how the expansion would/could further affect and/or benefit Centerplates operation but did not receive immediate feedback.
