Originally from Durango, Mexico, the brothers moved to the U.S. in the late ’90s to pursue the American dream. Having overcome many obstacles, they became U.S. citizens, homeowners, and now, business owners thanks to their drive and determination. With over 20 years of experience working at Italian restaurants across the city (Duo, Cucina Colore, Café Colore, Il Posto, and Cativella), the Gutierrez brothers are taking their collective knowledge and skills to open their first restaurant that will serve Italian comfort food to the Denver community. The family-oriented business will also include their two sisters, Aracely and Maria Gutierrez, who bring 10+ years of cooking expertise to the kitchen.

Centered around hospitality with heart, the 2,400 square-foot restaurant seats 72 people with a 10-seat bar. The family-friendly space also has a front patio to enjoy meals outside during the warmer seasons. For those wanting to enjoy Cucina Bella at home, to-go orders will be available for pickup, as well as local delivery through third parties.

The broad menu features classic Italian staples such as Crispy Calamari, Caprese Salad, Seared Salmon with Saffron Risotto, Lasagna, Chicken Parmigiana, and Margherita Pizza, with gluten-free options also available. For a touch of sweetness, the menu offers desserts including Tiramisu, Panna Cotta, and various flavors of Gelato & Sorbetto.

Cucina Bella will also host brunch on Saturdays & Sundays from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. with popular dishes (some influenced by their Mexican roots) including Eggs Benedict, Chilaquiles Rojos, Breakfast Pizza, and French Toast.

The beverage menu features all Italian wine and beer, as well as local beers. Happy hour will be Monday – Friday from 3 – 6 p.m.

“From dishwashers to restaurant owners, my brother, Heriberto, and I have put everything into making this dream a reality. Having spent the past 20 years learning the ins and outs of restaurant work, we are so excited to take that experience and share our passion with the community,” said Luis Gutierrez, co-owner of Cucina Bella in a statement. “Family is everything to us so we hope our food brings yours together.”

Cucina Bella is located at 9660 E Alameda Ave. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner Monday – Thursday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., and for brunch, lunch, and dinner on Saturday from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
