The new Littleton facility is owned by Amy Abraham and Heath Robberson. The group training facility employs a sports-science backed regimen led by certified coaches to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals.

Abraham and Robberson live in the area and thought Littleton would be a great fit for the brand. “We saw a huge need and opportunity for a program like D1 in this community, so it was just a no brainer for us to start our first one here,” Abraham told What Now Denver.

D1 Training offers athletic-based training for anyone who considers themselves an athlete. “Our programming is all science-based. It’s designed to get results, and it’s age-specific,” Abraham said.

D1 Training doesn’t focus on sport-specific skills. “We’re going to teach you how to move your body correctly, how to get faster, how to get stronger.” Classes are offered for children as young as seven up to adults. Middle school-aged classes focus on development including an introduction to the weight room, while high school-aged classes focus on collegiate Division One strength and conditioning programs. All programs are designed to improve performance and focus on injury prevention.

Weekly memberships for unlimited workouts are offered during the week. “We’re not just a gym where you can come in and workout. Everything that you do here will be led by a certified speed and strength coach,” Abraham said. In addition to membership-based workouts, D1 Training offers personal training for children and adults, team training, and small group.

Abraham and Robberson plan to open two other locations. They are currently searching for a second location, most likely in Castle Rock, which is expected to open within the year. They are also working to secure a third location possibly in the Lakewood or Golden area. Abraham said two other owners plan to open additional D1 Training facilities across the Denver Metro area bringing the total of new locations possible in the next five to six years to about a dozen.

D1 Training was founded in 2001 by former NFL player Will Bartholomew and has over 60 locations currently open, with more than 120 in development across 26 states.
