Em’s Ice Cream owner Andrew Silverman was initially hesitant about opening a second spot because of COVID but decided the space at Gold’s Marketplace would be the perfect location. “It’s surrounded by really great neighborhoods, easy accessibility, a lot of walking traffic. It just had all of the elements you could possibly hope for for an ice cream shop,” Silverman said.

The tentative opening date for the new Wheat Ridge location is sometime in late spring 2022, possibly late May or early June.

Em’s Ice Cream makes everything from scratch, even the chocolate chips featured in the Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, according to the company’s website. The ice cream is gluten-free and is made with premium milk, cream, and cane sugar.

“It’s a real craft product,” Silverman told What Now Denver. “We do everything. We are super involved in how all the ingredients are made. We try to source the best quality ingredients. A lot of time, care and love goes into the product.”

Flavors for guests to enjoy include burnt brown sugar, coffee toffee, honey lavender, and roasted banana. Other staples of the hand-churned, small batch ice creams are cookies and cream, milk chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla.

The Em’s Ice Cream flagship location at 2829 Fairfax St. in Denver opened in 2018. The shop will also have two ice cream trucks popping up around Denver and the greater Metro area to sell cool, sweet treats this summer.
