A new Colorado Springs retail shop featuring a variety of gemstones, jewelry, and even dinosaur fossils is expected to open this April. GeoFossiles co-owner Meg Guery told What Now Denver that she and her husband David Guery married this past fall, and now he is relocating GeoFossiles from France to Colorado Springs.
“It’s a unique store. There are no rock shops here. There are no fossil sellers here in Colorado Springs. There are metaphysical stores that sell pendants and tumbled stones, but this is so much more,” Meg Guery said.
GeoFossiles will offer the public, as well as collectors and museums, minerals from Madagascar, amethyst geodes from Uruguay, and fossils from Morocco and Badlands.
“This is all your rocks and crystal needs. So, if people are wanting really great statement pieces and collector pieces, we have that. If people are wanting nightstand pieces and mantel display pieces, we have that,” Meg Guery stated.
From bookend-sized pieces, five-foot tall cathedrals, and wing-shaped geodes to pocket stones, crystal bracelets, and fossils, GeoFossiles has something for everyone.
“Everything in the store is for sale. Even if we’ve got a piece of art on the wall that’s decorating my wall space, it’s still going to be for sale. I’ll just buy another piece of art,” Meg Guery said.
Renovations have been underway at the new GeoFossiles. They’ve removed walls, have painted the space, and are now waiting on a container from France that includes jewelry display materials and showcases. GeoFossiles is located at 5631 N. Academy Blvd. in Colorado Springs.
