A new StretchLab studio is opening in Golden this spring. Co-owners Chris and Amy Thacker discovered the StretchLab concept while looking for a way to take better care of themselves.

The married couple each received a 50-minute one-on-one session with a StretchLab Flexologist. “Afterwards, we felt fantastic,” Chris told What Now Denver. “It excited us about the possibility to help others and also to be able to have a business that we felt passionate about,” he shared.

This type of assisted stretching can benefit all ages from student athletes to more mature ages. “We have middle aged folks like Chris and I who are looking to have less aches and pains. As we started to look into our parents, as well, and their quality of life, we were really able to see how this type of service benefits them,” Amy shared.

It is recommended that people do static stretching on their own for its benefits, but those benefits increase when working one-on-one with a Flexologist. The Flexologist will apply pressure and release, and when they apply pressure again, the stretch gets deeper. “What happens is you have the ability to create a deeper, longer-lasting stretch for your body,” Amy said.

The StretchLab Golden studio will be the first for the Thackers, but they plan to open two additional west Denver locations in the future. “Golden is such an active and vibrant community, we really saw an opportunity to service people who have all sorts of different reasons to utilize assisted stretching,” Amy said.

StretchLab Golden’s trained Flexologists and general manager have been providing free demo stretches at pop-up events across the community to showcase the benefits of assisted stretching.

Starting out, the StretchLab Golden studio will only offer 25-minute or 50-minute one-on-one assisted stretching sessions with one Flexologist and one client. COVID regulations are delaying the possibility of group sessions.

Founding member memberships are currently being offered at a lower cost. You can find out more on the StretchLab Golden website.

StretchLab has six locations in Colorado, and two other franchise locations under different ownership are coming soon to Walnut Creek and Castle Rock.

The Thackers are still waiting on the permitting process, but they anticipate to open the StretchLab Golden studio in late April or May. The new studio will be located at 17121 S. Golden Rd., Ste. C145, Golden, CO 80401.
