The original Leroy’s Bagels opened at 4432 W. 29th Ave. in 2016. “Since then, we’ve just gotten a little bit bigger than we can handle out of that kitchen,” owner Sarah Green told What Now Denver. Green decided to open the second location to provide more room for production and expand the concept. Green signed the lease at the new spot last June and recently finalized all negotiations.

She hopes to open in September, but there is a lot of work to do to transform the former gym into a restaurant. “We’re going to be doing a complete buildout. Full kitchen, grease trap, venting, you name it. It will be completely new, which is exciting,” Green said.

The bagels and bagel chips are made fresh in-house each day, and when they happen to have leftovers, they are donated to Denver homeless shelters and local refrigerator drops. Bagel flavors include everything, jalapeno cheddar, cinnamon and sugar, asiago, and more.

Leroy’s Bagels also makes a range of spreads, including a variety of cream cheese flavors and vegan options. Sandwich options include egg and cheddar cheese with a choice of bacon, ham, or sausage, the Caprese with prosciutto, tomato, basil, balsamic, and plain cream cheese, or the Lox Sandwich with smoked salmon, capers, onion, tomato, and plain cream cheese. Yum! Coffee, tea, and cocoa are drink options.

“Now it feels like it’s all coming together, so I can’t wait,” Green said. “It’s been a lot of hard work, and it’s finally paying off, so it’s fun to see.”
