Although they reopened for the summer of 2021, the owners, Niya and Grant Gingerich, along with Christian Thompson and Kris Miller, are getting ready for a new concept: Local 38 at 3930 West 38th Street.

Christian Thompson owns the 38Perry, LLC that filed for the building permit, and also runs Green Door Living, while Kris Miller owns KLM Construction.

Earlier this year, Gingerich told Westword that, while they had been approved for an outdoor biergarten, they were denied for outdoor live music, which she was hopeful would change by the time they open.

The new bar will be a remodel of the El Chapultepec Too, which closed in 2014. The remodel will cover just under 3700 square feet of space.

Having had to shut Local 46 down due to the landlord wanting to sell the building, the Gingerich’s also told Westword they were looking forward to owning the building and being able to put a bigger investment toward the business.

As of now, no official opening date has been set, and the building permit was filed in the middle of September. What Now Denver reached out to Thompson for more information, but he was unavailable by phone on Thursday.
