The Post Chicken & Beer’s Lower Highland (LoHi) outpost closed its doors on Saturday, December 7. The shuttering of the eatery at 1575 Boulder St. marks the end of a twenty-year run in the area, according to the Denver Post. But it’s just a minor set back.

Plans are to reopen a location, but outside of Denver’s city limits. There are currently still several The Post Chicken & Beer locations across the Front Range, including spots in Lafayette, Longmont, Rosedale, Boulder, and Estes Park.

Its LoHi location gained fame when featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The business operated in a former VFW building after the closure of Lola Coastal Mexican, a longtime neighborhood staple.

The brand’s proprietor, Big Red F group, also owns Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar, West End Tavern, and Velvet Elk Lounge. The hospitality company also plans to expand its ButterPunk Cookies brand with a stand-alone shop. Owner Dave Query declined to comment for the piece.
