Maria Empanada offers dine-in, take-out, and delivery options for its unique and flavorful empanadas, which are made from scratch each day.

Some tastes of its artisan empanadas include the Argentina, which features steak, red bell peppers, hard-boiled eggs, green onions, and green olives. Guests can also enjoy flavors of the Chicken Chimichurri with braised chicken, sautéed onions, red bell peppers, and an authentic Argentinian chimichurri sauce.

Breakfast and vegetarian options are also available for purchase. Other specialties include a variety of home-made salsas and desserts, such as Pears in Marsala and the Alfajor, Maria Empanada’s signature shortbread cookie.

According to the Maria Empanada website, founder and CEO Lorena Cantarovici arrived in the U.S. from Argentina with only $300 and began crafting artisan empanadas out of her house.

There are now two other Denver locations in operation—one on South Broadway and one on Platte—as well as a location at the Stanley Marketplace in Aurora.

Although there’s no official word yet on when the new Maria Empanada location could open at 3535 W. 44th Ave., Denver, CO 80211, sometime in the spring of 2022 could be the date.
