The franchise owners for the location, Jon and Micayla Bahr, told What Now Denver that the grand opening will be in early 2025. The couple has lived in Colorado Springs for two years, working in corporate roles, but they’ve always dreamed of owning a community-centered business.
“We hope to create a fun environment for the community and put a smile on people’s faces,” Micayla shared.
Permits are expected soon and construction is set to begin shortly thereafter. There are plans to hire 30 team members for the store — the brand’s first in Colorado.
This location promises a delightful dessert experience. MilkShake Factory’s signature handspun milkshakes are made with housemade ice cream in a wide variety of flavors, from classic vanilla and strawberry to creative spins like campfire s’mores and chocolate-dipped strawberry.
The brand’s story dates back to 1914, when the Greek immigrant founders opened a chocolate shop and soda fountain in Pittsburgh. Now, MilkShake Factory operates 11 locations in Pennsylvania and began franchising last year, quickly garnering interest nationwide.
