Owner Jessica Austin started the concept from her home during the pandemic and initially began selling on Etsy. After receiving great local response for her plants and floral arrangements, Austin had a custom shed erected in her backyard and began selling by appointment only.

With the growth, Austin decided to move Mrs. Fancy Plants to a brick-and-mortar location at 7475 E. Arapahoe Rd. in Centennial. “The plans are to keep opening locations as time goes on,” Austin told What Now Denver.

Mrs. Fancy Plants specializes in houseplants and florals. “I do custom arrangements. We specialize in rare houseplants, the basic houseplants, anything from beginners all the way to advanced,” Austin explained.

Workshops are also offered to the public including how to build your own terrarium and DIY eucalyptus shower bundles. “They really enjoy coming together and meeting other people in the houseplant community. Those are really fun.”

Austin hopes to open Mrs. Fancy Plants in Centennial by early March as buildout wraps up, but it all depends on how quickly inspections are completed.
