In 2019, Chuck and MaryAnn Thomas opened Munchies 719, a Colorado Springs food truck offering mouthwatering takes on standard snacks like Philly cheese eggrolls, thyme & cheddar chicken n’ waffles, and a teriyaki flatbread topped with grilled chicken, pineapple, and roasted garlic.

Now, the couple plans to expand their menu when they officially open at 122 N. Tejon St. — formerly home to Michelle Chocolatiers & Ice Cream.

The Munchies 719 brick-and-mortar will offer a full bar, four-top tables, and retail space in the front. Additionally, MaryAnn — who loves to bake and makes brownies and lemon bars for the truck — intends to sell homemade pastries and ice cream from the stationary operation to pay homage to the beloved institute that came before it.

The Munchies 719 food truck will remain closed until the eatery is opened and operating smoothly. Regarding the debut of their brick-and-mortar, MaryAnn told What Now Denver, “We have been delayed by the shipping of an electrical panel. It was supposed to show up on November 16 or 17.”

The couple is hoping to have both a soft and grand opening when loose ends are finally tied up.
