Raising Cane’s, a fast-food chain that specializes in chicken fingers, has filed for a building permit at 4517 N Central Park Blvd as part of the upcoming Runway 35 North development.
The chain, founded by Todd Graves and Craig Silvey, has over 500 locations after initially starting in Louisiana back in 1996.
According to the website, graves got the “worst” grade on his business proposal for a college business class, being told by both the teachers and the banks that a chicken finger restaurant would never work.
After working 90 hours a week and saving up his own money, Graves renovated what became the first Raising Cane’s location by himself, using an old mural on the back wall of the building as inspiration for their logo.
Although the menu has a focus on the fingerlings, it also offers sandwiches and various combos, but is most famous for the Cane’s Sauce that everyone dips the chicken into.
A rep for the company has confirmed that, while there are other franchisees in different locations, the upcoming one at Runway 35 North will be company owned and operated. However, they have yet to release an official opening date as of publication.
