According to the Mici website, Mici simmers its sauces for hours to develop rich flavors and makes fresh pizza dough daily. Children can even play with the pizza dough while waiting for their meals.

Guests can enjoy a variety of pizza options including the Vela featuring family-recipe sausage, ricotta, and mozzarella and the Molto Carne, which includes family-recipe sausage, hand-rolled meatballs, nitrate-free pepperoni, and mozzarella.

Pastas, including a zucchini noodle option, lasagna, salads with garlic bread, and more are also on the menu. Gelato options are also available for a tasty dessert.

Mici is an abbreviation of the founders’ surname, Miceli. Brothers Jeff and Michael Miceli teamed up with their sister, Kim Miceli, to open the first Mici in 2004. The restaurant now has more than half a dozen locations across Colorado. Mici is moving into franchising and recently signed its first franchise agreement for a location in Phoenix.

Besides sharing their tried-and-true Italian dishes with local residents, Mici also donates to area schools and children’s organizations. Mici is expected to open its second Colorado Springs location at 9275 North Union Blvd. in December.
