“(Teriyaki Madness) is one of the fastest-growing fast casual franchises in the country,” Ballek told What Now Denver. “That, combined with the taste of food, made it a solid investment opportunity.”

Per its franchise website, Teriyaki Madness grew by 32% from 2019 to 2021. This makes for more than 125 United States restaurants now, in addition to two in Mexico and two in Canada.

The now international franchise was founded in Seattle as a healthy alternative “gut bombs” offered from other fast dining options (according to What Now Denver). Teriyaki Madness’ menu features not just chicken, but a range of protein options — teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, grilled chicken, teriyaki steak, and tofu. Hungry customers can pack bowls with an assortment of steamed veggies atop various rice and noodle options. Appetizers include egg rolls, Crab Rangoon, edamame, and more.

The location that’s grown around Colorado State University also spoke for itself. Ballek and Traylor each have spent over 20 years in their now dense and still-growing home of Fort Collins. Not only are there plenty of people looking for high-quality, inexpensive food, there’s plenty of potential employees nearby.

While there are no firm plans in the works, Ballek and Traylor have the option to bring more Teriyaki Madness stores to Fort Collins if the business booms.
