Before owner Guillermo Pharis moved to Denver, he visited the Mile High City several times to showcase his collection. “I saw something so beautiful in Denver,” Pharis shared. “I felt that Denver was the right place for me.”

Pharis downsized his New York boutique and moved half of his collection to Denver to begin offering appointment-only visits with potential bridal clients. Pharis plans to expand his New York location once the new Denver boutique opens in March and close the original Denver location on Speer Blvd.

Pharis is creative director for Whisper Bridal, which is sold across the globe and at his boutique in Hong Kong, and his GIA New York brand offers luxury evening wear and custom-made bridal.

Pharis travels between Denver and New York to work individually with brides to create exquisite designs. “Every bride that comes to the store, they are fascinated by the energy. For me, it’s all about that,” Pharis told What Now Denver.

Guillermo Pharis Bridal offers custom-made and made-to-order gowns, as well as in-house alterations and accessories. COVID has hampered Pharis’ efforts to expand his accessories collection, but by the end of the year, the bridal boutique will have a wider range of items including exclusive styles for evening wear.

“In my store, you have the ability of talking to me,” Pharis said about his clients. “I like to hear who they are, what they do, and have some kind of connection.”

Pharis is passionate about each design he creates and is involved in the entire process. “For me, every single style is different but also, it’s very special to me,” Pharis shared. “There is emotion when I design the dress, goals, ideas that I have behind every collection.”

Pharis currently has three bridal collections, the first of which debuted in New York in 2019, and he is currently working on his 2023 collection.

Pharis began designing when he was 11 after reading a bridal magazine given to him by a neighbor. “That really opened my mind, my creativity, and my ideas of fashion and art, how they go together,” Pharis said.

“For me it’s more quality than quantity. It’s more creativity, it’s more connection,” he said. “It’s important to me to have a happy bride,” he said, “and I think that’s what I’m bringing to Denver more than selling a wedding dress.”

A private opening will be held at the end of February, and Pharis is planning to open Guillermo Pharis Bridal on Welton St. to the public on Saturday, March 5.
