Daly recently told Westword, “We’ll be back. Our motto that we’ve taken as a team is we’re just going to do our best.”
Vine Street, located at 1700 Vine Street, is one of the two concepts from Mountain Sun that has yet to reopen, the other being the main Mountain Sun Brewery in Boulder. The company also has Southern Sun, Under the Sun and Longs Peak Pub that have all reopened.
Outside of the necessary permitting required for building and other various licensing, the pub also faces issues in regard to staffing, as most of the original staff has since gone on to fulfill other jobs after getting laid off.
The pub itself originally opened back in April 2008, where the website says it was easily embraced by the community. Then, in April 2012, the pub opened the flagship brewery that has the capacity to produce 5,000 barrels annually, which outnumbers the brewing capacity of both Boulder locations combined.
As of now, no official reopening date has been offered. While the website still lists the reopening as Fall 2021, Daly told Westword they were revamping the menu with Chef Greg Buchanan and that they were using the winter for development first.
What Now Denver reached out to Daly for further comment on Friday, but he was unavailable by phone.
