A new Jamaican-inspired craft brewery is coming to Denver. Wah Gwaan Brewing Co. will be opening its doors soon on 925 West 8th Ave., right off Santa Fe Dr. “In Jamaican Patois (English dialect spoken in Jamaica), “wah gwaan” is commonly used as a greeting,” according to their official website, “and means “how are you/what’s up.”

Founded by Harsha Maragh and Jesse Brown, “the idea for the brewery was driven by Harsha’s Jamaican heritage, a shared love for craft beer and the desire to create social change within the industry,” according to their website. The brewery will be using sustainable practices and will “embody traditional Jamaican culture through distinctive, vibrant beer flavors.”

This “woman-owned, minority-owned, and veteran-owned” brewery according to their website, is sure to be a welcome addition to the breweries in Denver!
