“We have secured the perfect location,” says the company’s website. “We are so excited to share this space with you soon!”

The cafe’s owner, Sean Harwin, confirmed the forthcoming location and its early-2023 launch date but has asked that the address remain undisclosed.

Per the incoming establishment’s website, Glissade “was founded on the idea that specialty coffee should be inclusive, incredibly delicious, and, most importantly, fun.”

In 2010, while living in Colorado, Sean Harwin found himself serving coffee at a certain green-apron establishment. Like many coffee professionals before (and after him), this would be the start of an exciting, java-centric journey.

From there, Harwin moved to Seattle where he was afforded the opportunity to work at a specialty coffee roasting facility. The palpable power and rewarding nature of such a craft immediately drew Harwin deeper into the coffee world. However, Sean soon discovered that the most enriching aspect of it all was “traveling the world and documenting the estates [where] the roastery would buy its green coffee from.”

Today, Harwin, an outdoorsman and coffee aficionado, heads-up Glissade Coffee Company — an establishment named after the exhilarating act of sliding down a steep slope of snow or ice with the support of an ice axe.

“The highlight of [the] epic adventure where [I proposed to my now-fiance Laura] was indeed the part where [she] said yes,” Harwin recounts. “But a close second was glissading down the mountain [together] after [we] summited.”
