First Watch, an American restaurant chain specializing in brunch, is looking to further expand its presence in the Denver area, public data shows. The business is working with the city on the permitting process for a development at 8928 E 46th Ave.

The company, which was founded in 1983, wants to build a 4,882-square-foot freestanding restaurant on a 0.75-acre parcel of land. Plans allow for 52 parking spaces. A resubmitted from First Watch is required, records state. 

This is part of First Watch’s larger strategy of growth across the country. The chain operates more than 520 restaurants in 29 states and employs over 15,000 team members nationwide. It took over The Good Egg chain and Egg & I restaurants and transformed them, and was acquired by private equity firm Advent International.

There are nine First Watch locations in the immediate Denver metro area currently. Other states the concept has focused on for expansion are Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Arizona. The brand’s headquarters is in Bradenton, Florida.
