According to the permit, the covered patio space will include pergolas, which is any outdoor structure that provides a shelter and usually allows for sunlight to shine through a slatted roof.

In addition to the pergolas, there will also be new exterior bathrooms, as well.

What Now Denver reached out to the owner, Leah Watson, for further comment as to when the project was slated to be done, but she was unavailable.

The restaurant, which opened in 2010, has doubled in size since its original opening as it is, having bought the space next door along the way. In 2020, they also opened up Berkeley Donuts inside to offer Denver’s only potato-style donut shop.

According to the website, these days Hops & Pie serves “slices, traditional, pan, Detroit-style and gluten-free pies, sandwiches with house smoked meats, salads made with local ingredients and seasonal specials alongside a frequently rotating craft beer tap list.”

It also lists “scratch made food, true craft beer and welcoming hospitality” as their values.
