The Applebee’s at 495 Garden of the Gods Rd. in Colorado Springs has shut down to make way for a new In-N-Out, the Gazette reports. The burger chain giant will be moving forward with plans now that the restaurant closed last month.

That Applebee’s location served the community for over 25 years. It will be torn down so that In-N-Out can construct a new building in its place. Flynn Group was the franchise owner for that location.

These plans have been in the works for a while: proposals were submitted last year for demolition plans, and were approved in recent months. Records show the company will be constructing a 3,860-square-foot property.

In-N-Out signed a 20-year lease agreement for the site last week. A company representative told the Gazette they are in the “plan check process and hope to start construction shortly. It’s still too early to say when we’ll be able to open a restaurant.”
