“Bajeko Sekuwa is a renowned restaurant from Nepal,” co-owner Sabin Wagle told What Now Denver. “There’s big expectations and we’re here to serve you the best food as possible and provide the best service as possible.”

Sekuwa specializes in dumplings in its secret sauce, wok-fried noodles accompanying veggies, Himalayan tastes, and char-grilled meat seared in regional spices like cumin, paprika, and coriander. Being just one part of an ethnic region, the restaurant includes north Indian favorites like Tandoori, chicken tikka, chicken masala, and, of course, plenty of naan to soak up the world of flavors. Wagle said that while there are a lot of Nepalese-owned restaurants in Denver, owners are excited to bring the authenticity of a restaurant that’s headquartered in The Land of Truth.

The name hails from the time when the restaurant was only a small stall, founded by Dinanath Bhandari — baje (grandpa) cooking up delicious sekuwa (roasted meat) for his community. In honor of this passion, Dinanath’s son Chetan leveled up the food stand and founded what’s become an international eatery.

The food won’t be the only authentic aspect of the Denver Bajeko outpost. The interior will welcome patrons into Nepalese culture, complete with goods handcrafted in the country.

“People can see a bit of the art of Nepal, and get to know a little about the country before going to Nepal,” Wagle said, laughing.

The sit-down, 3,275 square foot restaurant will offer space for 94 sit-down diners and of course, pick-up service. Keep your nose out the magnetic aroma of grilling meat wafting from Aurora soon.
