“We are extremely excited to open our doors and welcome guests to Two Moons,” says Jake Soffes, principal and founder of Pearl Street Hospitality in a statement. “Our mission — to blend the top-notch cocktails and exceptional service of a neighborhood bar with immersive live entertainment and a curated ambiance — is very much aligned with the current post-pandemic demand for dynamic experiences in Denver. We’ve created a unique space where guests can enjoy well-made cocktails while they support local and independent artists.”

Denoting new beginnings and good fortune, Two Moons is an auspicious symbol meaning that something big is on the horizon. The 4,000-square-foot space provides a well-appointed and comfortable haven for local and independent artists of various genres, with live entertainment six nights a week. The majority of Two Moons’ programming calendar features recurring walk-in genre nights as opposed to ticketed events, making it approachable and accessible. Upcoming acts include local and independent artists in a diverse array of genres, including recurring appearances from Retrofette every first Saturday; Venus Cruz every second and fourth Tuesday; open mic nights the first Wednesday of every month; and honky tonk Thursdays. Other upcoming acts include the Jasper Silver Band, Siembra Soundsystem, Keddjra, the Tonewood String Band, The Delta Sonics and more.

The beverage program highlights reasonably priced craft cocktails, wine, beer and non-alcoholic offerings. House cocktails are crafted by Two Moons partner and bar director, Stuart Weaver. House cocktails include:

·        Copycat – Grey Goose vodka, cherry, elderflower, tarragon, Dolin Blanc vermouth, lime (carbonated)

·        Easy Lover – Cazadores tequila, mango, curry, raspberry, cacao, lime

·        V is for Vanity – Hendrick’s gin, hoja santa, heirloom pineapple amaro, Licor 43, lime (coconut milk clarified)

·        Shapeshifter – Madre mezcal, shiso, yuzu, plum sake, grapefruit zest, lime (carbonated)

·        Two-Eyed Jack – Wild Turkey 101 Rye, Appleton Estate rum, chicory, ancho chile, banana, coffee, lemon, egg white

·        Desert Rose – Milagro reposado tequila, La Luna mezcal, Chiot Montamaro, Cocchi Americano, fermented honey

·        Both Sides – Family Jones gin, Campari, strawberry, sweet woodruff, Carpano Clasico vermouth, balsamic

·        This Ain’t Texas – Old Forester 100 Bourbon, Averna, fig, long pepper, black lemon, tamari

The menu also includes beer and shot combos for $14 and under, draft and bottled beers, a signature house green tea shot, and a tightly curated wine list topping out at $15 a glass or $60 a bottle. There are a trio of non-alcoholic cocktails available, including the Shiso Spritz (Three Spirit Livener, shiso, lime, mint, Strongwater grapefruit soda); a Hoja Santa Colada (Three Spirit Nightcap, hoja santa, mint, coconut, lime); and Pineapple No-Groni (AMASS Riverine non-alcoholic spirit, Martini & Rossi Vibrante aperitivo, Giffard Aperitif syrup and pineapple gum). Bottle service is available by request. Happy hour is available from 4-6 p.m. daily and includes $8 mixed drinks, a $6 grapefruit spritz, $7 wines and $5 draft beers.

Snacks include light bites such as mixed Greek olives, Marcona almonds, and olive tapenade, as well as cheeses and meats – spicy pimento cheese dip, Di Stefano burrata, MouCo Camembert and Elevation Meats ‘nduja — served with crackers and accoutrement.

UNUM: collaborative, the architecture firm responsible for the interiors of Pearl Street Hospitality’s other concepts, spearheaded the design, focusing on a comfortable space with nods to midcentury design, incorporating sturdy materials such as stone, slab ash wood and terra cotta. Two nano doors fold open to the street-facing patio on Larimer Street, and two levels of “stadium” seating allow for dynamic experiences throughout the venue. Abundant greenery, another touchstone of Pearl Street’s design language, is heavily featured above the two bars. The 200-person room is equipped with an exceptional and versatile sound system for an optimal listening experience, and a drop-down wall projector screen. The space also features a comfortably appointed private space and convenient back-door load in for performers.
