City Street Investors owns two properties in the area including Sloan’s Bar & Grill, so when the former city-owned property became available, the group purchased it.
The property formerly housed the fire station, fire department offices, and the Edgewater Public Library, which all relocated to other areas. The former office building was torn down. “That land became the outdoor garden area for the new beer garden, and then we repurposed the fire station building itself to house the kitchen and the interior dining, restrooms,” said Joe Vostrejs, City Street Investors principal. The library building was renovated and leased to Playa Bowls.
Edgewater Beer Garden will feature a menu of salads, sandwiches, burgers, brats, and more. Edgewater Beer Garden will have something new that the other two beer gardens don’t offer. “We’re going to blend in a bit of Baja-style Mexican food, as well. So, we’ll have some fish tacos, some quesadillas, some nachos, some burritos,” Vostrejs told What Now Denver.
Edgewater Beer Garden is designed to be a community gathering spot with lots of outdoor seating and can serve large groups looking to enjoy food and craft beer on a nice afternoon. “You order at the counter. You get some great Colorado craft beer, and it just is super convenient,” Vostrejs said.
