A six-year-old brewery, Peak View was started in 2016 by Sean Peters and Justen Coulfal in 2017. Its diverse beer offerings include a French pilsner, hazy IPA, Scotch ale, and specialties like apple pie cream ale and strawberry and vanilla sour ale.
The purchase is still pending, but Downhill Brewing will be paying $410,000 for the company. It assumed Peak View’s lease in August, and was recently granted preliminary approval for a new brewpub liquor license, pending state authorization.
Downhill Brewing is a rebrand of Elk Mountain Brewing. The business will be retaining of all 15 Peak View employees, and expanding food offerings. It has space for corporate events, birthdays, showers, and bachelor and bachelorette parties.
