The iconic Denver burger joint will have a fourth location.

The Cherry Cricket, which has been a staple of Denver’s dining scene for nearly 79 years, has announced plans to open its fourth location in Broomfield. 9News reports that the eatery will be situated at 1280 E 1st Ave. in the former Old Chicago site.

This new outpost is expected to be open and operating by early summer 2025 It will span approximately 8,500 square feet, featuring a covered patio and a “Burger Garden” designed to accommodate over 300 guests. The venture will also generate about 150 jobs for the local community.

“We searched extensively across the Denver metro area for the ideal location for our next Cherry Cricket, and we fell in love with Broomfield’s strong sense of community,” said Alex Bunn, CMO and VP of Growth for Breckenridge-Wynkoop, LLC — The Cherry Cricket’s owner. “Speaking with residents and those who grew up here, we heard fond memories of gathering with friends and neighbors at the former Old Chicago. We are excited to revive this beloved community spot and bring it back to life.”

With a longstanding legacy that began in Cherry Creek in 1945, The Cherry Cricket then expanded to Denver’s Ballpark neighborhood in 2018 and Littleton in 2023. This Broomfield property is being designed and built out by MA Architects and Jordy Construction.
