The nation’s biggest custard chain, Andy’s Frozen Custard, is adding another Colorado store to its list. City records show the company is building a new free-standing property at the Runway 35 development, at 9111 East 40th Avenue near the old Stapleton Airport.

A representative for the company told What Now Denver that the estimated opening date will be in Q4 of 2023, and that the franchisee for the location is Rocky Mountain Custard, LLC, an entity owned by Josh Spurlock and Fabian Vargas.

This new Andy’s will be the fifth to come to the Denver area — there are currently three open and another opening in Aurora in June. The company has over 130 stores across the nation and has been around for nearly 40 years.

Runway 35 is a new mixed-use project with high visibility from I-70. There has already been a QuikTrip built at the site and a Wendy’s is under construction. Other concepts expected include a Cracker Barrel, 7 Brew Coffee, and Fairfield Inn. Records show the concept will be on a .83-acre site next to the gas station, with drive-thru lanes and 37 parking spaces.
