The 10,000 square-feet establishment is nestled along the train tracks in the RiNo neighborhood, close to the 38th and Blake RTD station and about 500 yards from the Mission Ballroom. The space will encompass an experimental brew kit, taproom, spacious patio with a firepit and connected dog park for furry friends. Designed with the natural beauty of Colorado in mind, the interior look of the building will feature wood-beam ceilings, original fixtures and doors to maintain the historic feel of the glass-blowing workshop that previously resided in the space.

“Denver stands at the forefront of US beer culture, RiNo specifically, having a pivotal role in the shaping the national and global craft beer movement,” says BrewDog USA CEO John Graham in a statement. “We have worked with our partners for the last two years on bringing BrewDog to Denver and we’re looking forward to opening our doors and becoming a part of the community’s vibrant brewing scene.”

Visitors to the Denver outpost will have access to guided Beer School tasting experiences, competitive games like shuffleboard and arcade video games, and 30 taps pouring classic BrewDog brews such as Elvis Juice and Punk IPA. Additional rotating guest taps will be curated by Colorado state craft beer pioneers including Odell Brewing, Great Divide Brewing, Left Hand Brewing and Aurora’s Incantation Brewery, as well as Denver locals, Reverence Brewing. Coffee will be served from Arvada coffee roasters, Bluegrass Coffee Company.

As the first US franchise location, BrewDog Denver’s menu will uniquely reflect the Mexican heritage of Hop Dragon Holdings founder Juan Carlos Mondragón and his family. The outpost will still offer BrewDog’s classic culinary offerings like burgers, salads and wings, along with a range of exclusive menu items and Mexican classics.

Mondragón’s affinity with the Scottish born brand began when he would visit his daughter Paloma and now son-in-law Elliot while they were university students in Scotland. Paloma went on to work in BrewDog’s Brussels Bar, and the Mondragón family remained fans of the brand until the right opportunity came along to partner for this location. Ahead of opening, Paloma has gained knowledge of the local Denver beverage scene by serving as a wine specialist at award-winning Carboy Winery, one of the largest winemakers in the state. Meanwhile, Elliot’s love for craft beer has led him to MSU Denver’s brewery operations program while also running marketing for Hop Dragon Holdings. Mondragón’s son Eduardo will bring his financial experience and extensive love of barbecue and tacos to the team.

“We have felt so incredibly lucky to have our family business become a part of the BrewDog family, too,” says Mondragón. “The response so far from fellow Denver breweries has also been incredibly welcoming and humbling, and we are thrilled to be joining this community of hardworking, friendly craft beer lovers.”
