Chef JW Lee is opening another Korean barbecue concept that will feature more cast-iron dishes. Cast Iron BBQ is scheduled to open at 2710 S. Havana St. in Aurora in September 2022.
The new concept will be just down the road from the original Seoul BBQ that opened 15 years ago in Aurora. It will have a similar menu of Korean-style barbecue but will add more cast-iron dishes.
“We built up some good reputations,” Lee told What Now Denver. “I think the Korean culture, and cuisines, and music are getting really popular. So, we see the dramatic increase in popularity of Korean food, and then we are excited to move to the next step.”
The Aurora Seoul BBQ is located at 2080 S. Havana St., and a second Seoul BBQ location is scheduled to open at 1645 Briargate Pkwy. in Colorado Springs. The permitting process and contractor delays have continued to push back the Colorado Springs opening, and now Lee hopes to open the doors to Seoul BBQ this May.
Founder of Seoul Hospitality Group, Lee began his culinary career in Korea and has opened more than 20 restaurants since immigrating to the United States. Lee owns Menya, which features a menu of ramen, poke, sushi, and more in Denver, Lakewood, and Colorado Springs, as well as Mono Mono Korean Fried Chicken and several other concepts.
