Starbucks has embarked on a large-scale journey to make design and functionality changes to many of its 16,000 U.S. stores. The 1410 Speer Blvd. outpost, on the edge of downtown, is one of them, records show.

This particular Starbucks operates as a drive-thru and walk-up-only location, a small kiosk-style shop in a 900-square-foot space.  Its operating hours are from 5:30 AM–5:30 PM for the drive-thru and until 8:00 for walk-up service.

Building plans and electrical plans for the location were approved in February but the health plan review is still pending. Design Forum Architects Inc. is listed as a collaborator on the project, Change Up as the designer, and WHS Engineering as the engineering firm.

City records state that it will be an interior and exterior project, and job postings online show the business is currently hiring for baristas at the store as the upgrades happen.
