TAG Restaurant Group (TRG), led by Denver restaurateur Troy Guard, announced the unveiling and revival of TAG Burger Bar on April 16th, 2024. Opening in Central Park at 10155 E. 29th Drive, the burger concept once held a steadfast presence in Denver’s Congress Park for over a decade. Guests can again enjoy a ‘Chef Troy Guard spin’ on a classic burger bar at the new location opening in the vibrant Central Park neighborhood.
Says Guard in a statement, “Bringing TAG Burger Bar back to Denver means a lot to us. Just like the original location, our aim is to deliver unique flavors in a fun and casual neighborhood bar. It’s about more than just food – it’s about providing a place where local friends and families can come together to relax, unwind, and create lasting memories.”
In 2021, the Congress Park location of TAG Burger Bar closed its doors after a decade-long tenure, attributed to the expiration of its lease and ongoing challenges posed by the COVID pandemic. The new location will not feel unfamiliar – the revival of the burger bar will represent its beloved concepts while also bringing a more lively and modern atmosphere, much like Guard’s other ventures. Fans of the original TAG Burger Bar can look forward to Chef Guard’s classic yet creative burgers, boozy milkshakes, and local drafts, along with some new recipes.
“After closing the Congress Park location, TAG Burger Bar is the restaurant we get asked about the most. It feels great that everyone seems to be just as excited as we are to finally open again!” Says Guard.
Chef Guard is the mind behind several successful establishments, including Guard and Grace, his flagship restaurant known for its innovative approach to the modern steakhouse. Chef Guard’s brand HashTAG, a destination for boozy brunch, recently opened its Highlands Ranch location last year to cater to the broader Denver population. Expanding his culinary ventures, plans are underway for a third HashTAG location and the introduction of Done Deal, a new cocktail bar concept that debuted in downtown Denver in January of this year.
To celebrate the opening, TAG Burger Bar is offering $2 drafts from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16-Friday, April 19.
