The Well food hall at 315 E. Pikes Peak Ave. in Colorado Springs will be shuffling in three of four new permanent food stalls after opening last year. According to the Colorado Springs Indy, Dun Sun, Noble Burger, and Kumbala Pozoleria & Barbacoa, which opened in spring 2022, all closed for business at The Well on December 23. No word yet on what the new restaurants will be, but according to Simpatico Hospitality operations consultant, Justin Anderson, the new eateries will be Colorado-based and reopened on February 1, 2023.
The Well is designed as a communal gathering place in bustling downtown Colorado Springs. The Well will retain its anchor eatery, the Gift Horse Bar and Cafe, which will continue serving up coffee from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and cocktails from 11 a.m. until close after The Well reopens post January renovations. Anderson also indicated that food trucks on the food hall’s outside patio will keep rotating in the new year with aspirations for bringing in more mobile, outdoor dining options.
As The Well prepares for the new food options and improvements through January, operators will continue planning for a 2023 with more live music and entertainment at the gathering place at the corner of Weber Street and Pikes Peak Avenue. A portion of The Well’s revenue will continue to support the building’s other organization, the Philanthropy Collective — an amalgamation of several local foundations and nonprofits that provides services to more than 100 other regional charitable groups.
Despite the upgrades, the Art Deco building’s aesthetic will remain intact — a well-lighted, expansive space welcoming visitors with greenery, local art (including a large mural), staged bookshelves, and an outdoor view of nearby Pikes Peak outside.
