The 2,190-square-foot building that’s meant to house the incoming bb.q Chicken is currently undergoing construction to accommodate the change of occupancy.

Yoon Hong-guen founded bb.q chicken in Seoul, South Korea in 1995. Today, the franchise operates in thousands of stores across the globe, offering great-tasting, high-quality Korean fried chicken to the world.

According to the company’s website, the “bb.q” in its name stands for “Best of the Best Quality,” with chicken that’s crispier, juicier, and more tender than its competition, and sauces that provide “an eclectic mix of flavor.”

A What Now Denver interview with Craig Nguyen regarding the exciting operation is forthcoming. Stay tuned!

Article has been updated to include an interview with Franchisee Craig Nguyen:

WND: When will your bb.q Chicken location debut?

CN: We hope to have a soft opening before the end of the year with a grand opening at the beginning of 2023.

WND: Why did you choose to franchise with bb.q Chicken?

CN: Before attending a wedding reception in Austin, Texas, our investment group got a bite to eat at the bb.q Chicken. We enjoyed it so much that we wanted to see if there were any locations in Colorado. Lo and behold, there were none. This led to our wanting to become Colorado franchisees.

WND: What’s your favorite menu item? Any secret combinations that you’ve discovered or come to love?

CN: I’m partial to the spicy items on the menu like the Spicy Golden Original, Gangnam Style, and Spicy Galbi. However, these all have a non-spicy version as well.

My favorite is the Ddeok-Bokki which is a [beloved] street food. Lastly, the pickled radish is a must to compliment all of our savory and spicy items.

WND: Is this your first bb.q Chicken store? Do you plan to open more bb.q Chicken locations?

CN: This is our first. However, we are in talks with corporate to open more around the Denver metro area.

WND: What are your hopes for your bb.q Chicken store?

CN: We hope to share a beloved Korean cuisine popularized in K-Pop culture and Korean dramas with the ever-growing food scene outside of downtown Denver.
