The property they hope to build upon is a 1.66-acre lot, and plans show a 5,000-square-foot restaurant with a coffee shop/bar area, outdoor seating, a community garden, 51 parking spaces, and room for 50 bicycles to be locked up. Renderings show the design will incorporate using shipping containers to construct the two-story building.

At the end of May, a revised site plan was submitted for the project by Raptor Civil Engineering. The company is also working with Joe The Architect on the concept.

In a project narrative, Skiba wrote that they picked this specific location because there is “something calming and serene about being there. The landscape and backdrop are a perfect match for our Birdhouse concept… Set into nature, without affecting it, while providing a dining and outdoor experience in one.”
