Cherry Cricket plans to close on the former Crestwood Restaurant spot this week to open the new Littleton location. According to the press release, renovations will include significant interior and exterior updates, an expansive patio and “Burger Garden,” and an updated kitchen. The nearly 6,400-square-foot space will offer 325 seats, and the project is estimated to create 70-90 new jobs.
Cherry Cricket currently has two locations in Denver—one in Cherry Creek at 2641 East 2nd Avenue and a Ballpark spot at 2220 Blake Street.
The first Cherry Cricket opened in 1945 under the name Mary Zimmerman’s Bar, named after its founder. The name changed to Cherry Cricket in 1950 after being purchased by Lloyd Page. After multiple ownership changes, the second location opened on Blake Street in 2018.
Cherry Cricket was recently named Readers’ Choice winner of 5280 Magazine’s 2021 Top of the Town Best Burger. Diners can choose the size of the beef patties from a quarter-pound or half-pound, or pick from the grilled chicken, bison, ground turkey, or veggie options. Dozens of toppings can then be added to any burger including peanut butter and jam, bacon, a variety of cheeses, and crispy onion strings.
Burgers aren’t the only scrumptious food on the menu. Appetizers include nachos, chips and queso, wings, and crispy mac and cheese bites. Salads, soups and chilis, sandwiches, enchiladas, tacos, and more are also available.
The Cricket Brownie and several milkshake options will satisfy a sweet tooth. Cricket cocktails, boozy shakes, and a number of beer and wine options are also available.
Cherry Cricket in Littleton is expected to open at 819 W. Littleton Blvd. sometime in the fall of 2022 or spring of 2023. Plans are in the works to open more Colorado locations in the future.
