A restaurant that started as a food truck in Aurora more than two decades ago is now opening a third storefront, this time in Downtown Denver. Celene Rivera and her husband will own the third Tacos Selene location, which will be at 1001 Santa Fe Dr. The other two Tacos Selene locations—Aurora and Littleton—are owned by Rivera’s father.

They hope to open Tacos Selene sometime in August depending on permits and licensing. “We are so excited to get going. We found a great landlord, a great building. We just won second place in Denver’s best taco shop, so we’re really excited to come downtown now,” Rivera told What Now Denver. Tacos Selene was recognized for its tacos by The Denver Post.
Tacos are always a favorite at Tacos Selene. Diners can choose from a variety of meats for your tacos including asada, barbacoa, pastor, chicken, and more. “We have fresh produce, good salsas. Everybody enjoys the quality of our meat products. Our salsas are always fresh,” Rivera said.
Other menu items include burritos, quesadillas, and tortas. “I think everything brings the people back because of the freshness.” Online ordering is also available on the Tacos Selene website.
The Tacos Selene in Downtown Denver will feature a small space for outdoor dining, but it will mostly be indoor seating. No alcohol will be served. The menu selection and affordable prices draw in the crowds. “Our prices always stay low. Our customers love our prices. We try to stay at a good price range for our customers to come back,” Rivera said.
They had been looking to open in Denver for a while and found the perfect place. “Once we get this Denver one staffed and running, we hope to open another one and see how many more to come after that,” Rivera said. They could look into opening in Boulder, Castle Rock, Centennial, and Parker.
