YumCha is set to open next month in Denver’s Lower Downtown neighborhood at 1520 16th St. Mall, Denver, CO 80202.

YumCha is moving into the space formerly known as Cho77, also a restaurant by ChoLon Restaurant Concepts. During the COVID pandemic, leadership took time to rethink the brand and the space, and YumCha was born.

YumCha will feature a fresh look and a new menu of handmade dumplings and Chef Symensma’s travel-inspired noodles.

“While we loved the street food concept of Cho77, we realized that our dumpling and noodle items were the stars of the show there,” Symensma said. “Plus, we are so lucky to have Chef Michelle Xiao as part of our team here in Denver. We really wanted a space to showcase her exceptional dumpling talents.”

Chef Michelle Xiao, formerly a dim sum chef at Buddakan when Symensma served as Executive Chef, has more than 30 years of dim sum experience. At YumCha, Xiao will showcase her dumpling-forming talents.

The restaurant is scheduled to open mid-November of this year.
