Crisp & Green Colorado Restaurant Number Five Coming to Boulder

The Minneapolis-based fast casual franchise keeps expanding out from the Denver area.

Per a press release, Crisp & Green, the Minnesota-based healthy fast casual restaurant with chef-crafted fare, plans to open its fifth Colorado location this spring in Boulder. In addition to restaurants in Harmony Commons and downtown Fort Collins and Denver West, Crisp & Green number will land at 1675 29th St. in east Boulder.

“We couldn’t think of a better community to join as we continue to bring our chef-crafted food to Colorado,” founder and chairman Steele Smiley said in a press release. “The city of Boulder is filled with individuals seeking healthy options, and we’re confident we can provide them with fresh and flavorful menu items, perfect for fueling their active lifestyles.”

Crisp & Green’s menu staples serve as fuel for fitness lovers of all stripes. Options include grain bowls like the ever-popular Fiesta Bowl featuring brown rice, roasted chicken, avocado, napa cabbage, jalapeño, black beans, fajita peppers and onions, queso fresco, pepitas, roasted tomatillo salsa, lime squeeze, and a jalapeño-lime vinaigrette. Followed by an agua fresca like blueberry mint or pineapple ginger, and you’ve got a delicious, refreshing lunch for an inexpensive price. Watch for new options soon as the franchise transitions over to its spring menu.

In order to move beyond the dining room to provide nutrition via convenient salads, grain bowls and smoothies, Crisp & Green forges community partnerships with local fitness and wellness studios to offer complimentary classes that end with frescas. These are typically held outside of Crisp & Green eateries with all levels of fitness are always welcome to join. This mix of healthy meals and wellness lifestyle goes towards “Living Crisp,” the brand’s motto celebrating a well-lived (and eaten) life.

“As Crisp & Green grows throughout Colorado, and across the U.S, the brand never loses sight of its core values to connect with the community through healthy food and a commitment to actively engage with local fitness and wellness folks,” franchisee Andrew Rauch said in a statement.

This will also be the fourth Colorado Crisp & Green franchise overseen by Rauch.

I’ve lived in Boulder for 50+ years and never heard of “Old Town Boulder”. The map shows the purported location as being in 29th Street, a redeveloped and renamed shopping mall that has been a part of Boulder for longer than I have. I have low expectations for this late arrival.
