While Sutton told What Now Denver “construction isn’t set to take place for months…[as they still] don’t have approved permits,” the construction permit filed with the city describes the anticipated project as follows:

“Interior extension of the drive-thru cockpit area and addition of an exterior door. Finish modifications and patching as required, new equipment provided, and new structural support at [the] demolished wall. Addition of an exterior door and sliding drive-thru door requiring adjustment to [the] curb and drive-thru slope. No change to square footage, building height, or construction type. Exterior finishes will match existing conditions.”

What Now Denver caught up with Sutton for a few more details regarding what’s to take place at his store and why:

WND: First things first, how has your experience been as a CFA franchise owner?

JS: It’s been an absolute honor to be a Chick-fil-A Franchisee for the past 9 ½ years.  What I love about being a Chick-fil-A franchisee is our ability to have a positive impact on all we come in contact with daily, especially our local community. We have such amazing team members and leaders who we work alongside and who strive daily to help us be “the most caring company in the world!”

WND: What’s the main purpose of the incoming partial remodel?

JS: We have always prided ourselves in providing great food, genuine hospitality, and fast & accurate service through our drive-thru and front counter. This partial remodel will ultimately help us serve our guests even better.

It will expand the size of our drive-thru cockpit allowing us to better serve our guests by adding a drive-thru door where our traditional pickup window is currently located. This door will allow us to serve guests upstream while in the drive-thru if their order is ready before the order in front of them in line [is ready]. Additionally, it’ll make us leaner in regards to maximizing the productivity of our team and just overall improving inefficiencies.

Something our team is going to be very excited about is the addition of a designated break area for them. We will also be changing up our front-counter serving area slightly, as well as the area where we prepare our drinks for mobile pickup and Chick-fil-A delivery orders.

WND: About how long do you predict the construction at your location will last?

JS: We expect the construction to take approximately two weeks. During this time, some of our team members will be able to travel and help new Chick-fil-A’s across the country with their grand openings and share everything they have learned as Grand Opening Trainers from our Quebec Street location.  We will also use this as an opportunity for more internal training, vision casting, and goal setting, as well as some rest and relaxation for our team.

WND: What are your hopes for the improvements made to your location?

JS: Our hope is that it simply gives our team more room to operate as well as better serve our guests in the future!
